8 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 1/8 light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons milk
3 large eggs
2 teaspoons vinegar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup diced pecans
1 cup pecan halves
Preheat the oven to 375° F.
Place the pie crust in a greased 9" pie plate.
Melt the butter and set aside to cool.
In a large bowl mix together the flour, brown sugar, and salt.
Slightly beat the eggs by themselves to combine.
Add the milk and eggs and beat well.
Stir in the vinegar, vanilla, butter, and diced pecans.
Pour the mixture into the pie crust and scatter the pecan halves on top.
Bake in the oven for about 45 minutes. The top should be puffed up and set, the center just a little wobbly. The pecans should not burn.
Remove the pie from the oven and let set at least 2 hours before slicing.
